Track your site real uptime

I know a number of you guys paid for hosting(like myself) instead of using free hosts like wordpress.com , dasuku.net or animeblogger.net . Here’s the one million dollars or which ever amount your plan bill is question, How much uptime does your host “guarantee” you? 99.9% ? Where do they get this figure from? Is it validated by a neutral 3rd party ? How sure are you ?

I know i’m not.

Well , here’s something you can try. I stumbled upon pingdom when i was reading my daily dose of lifehacker.com(article here)

To tell you the truth, i don’t really expect much from my host(3ix.org)@US$3/month. Personally i’ve experienced my site downtime and sometimes a slow crawl to my site. I figured it should come around 90% uptime? Turns out i was wrong. Out of this 9 days that i’ve signed up and used pingdom , i finally have a glimpse at my host real reliability.

98.27% !!! :D That means my site is almost up for 23hours everyday!!(True as of my 9days usage). Will post updates a month later and also a few more months later.

As you can see i’m easily happy , However I’m not sure about the other price plans that’s offered by my host nor am i sure of how others of my price plan fare due to the amount of different servers and data center there is.

Anyone that happens to be on 3ix.org hosting , share you inputs too!

On top of checking downtime , you can also check the response time needed for your host to serve up your site ,

Less ms is better , as you can see my is pretty high. Which explains the crawl sometimes. But again more data is needed to have a more accurate reading. Just want to know, does my site loads slow to you ?

In any case, the free account enables you to track just one website. Which i think is enough(at least for me) , you can always pay for their service if you need more tracking. They are having discounts now,

  • 35% off if you go for the basic $US9.95/mth(w/o discount) or
  • 50% for business package US$39.95/mth(w/o discount)
