Learning Finance and stuff like that

The past 2 – 3 weeks , i’ve been learning about stocks and played a bit of paper trading. Basically it is messing around with virtual money and buying/selling stocks. There are still many which i don’t understand other than “Buy low Sell High” which seems to work on certain days so far.

I’m not really that kind of person that can talk numbers, charts, bull/bear and etc.. So there’re some stuff that i don’t really get it. So far , have a friend that is already doing this with real money. The things he teaches are sometimes overly profound to me because trading still don’t really make any sense to me unless you have a pool of at least $10,000 to mess with.

Right now i’m also reading up on a book(and blog), “I will teach you to be rich” by Ramit. So far, he’s been pushing investments to be made but i don’t stay in a place with 401(k) , Roth IRAs and high yielding online accounts. However , the rest of the basics pretty much applies to everywhere around the world which i’m trying to learn and apply to myself.

Back to the trading part , i have been trying to follow a few stocks. Since it is paper money or fake money , i dont really have to worry so much if i lose any “money”. I just click “add cash” options and it automatically gives me $$$$ as and when and how much i need.

I follow a few stocks that i’m familiar with and a few that looks kind of interesting.

• CLX ; Clorox company
• MSFT ; Microsoft Corp (was surprised at their stocks value, look at Apple’s or Google’s)
• NOVL ; Novell Inc
• GOK ; Geokinetics Inc
• HBAN ;  Huntington Bancshares Incorporated
• IBFL ; Independent Bancshares

Why do i follow them ? Well its paper money anyway, i just follow which ever i think that looks interesting. If you ask me , investing really ain’t no fun joke. Especially since money is so hard to earn unless you are one of those that inherits a crazy sum of money, won lottery or gets endless flow of money somehow without working , then i think you can play real stocks like you were playing paper money.

If i were to give a financial advise(with my limited knowledge) that would probably be “Don’t get yourself in a debt”. But i think that’s just common sense if there are any in this world.

Please do not misunderstand me if you think this is a financial advising site. I barely can make out what am i doing and all this investment thingy is so new to me. If you have sites that teaches you such things , please feel free to share. SPAMS are not welcome though.
