Finally I’m able to blog after a crazy week.. First off, i would like to extend my apology to everyone for
- Failure to post about daicon as soon as i got back
- Failure to blog anything at all for the whole week
- Complete drop of otaku lifestyle for the past week
- Also falling sick, a fever of 39.5 degrees C on friday(17th July 09) and only recovered today.
With that out of the way , i think i can start blogging what i’m supposed to blog. With that , have patience , posts will appear through out the day. Oh , one more thing , as of late I’ve not been taking as much photos as i used to whenever i go to events. Well is not that everyone owns a Dslr and i still don’t.. Rather a good friend of my have a temporary D200 with him(lucky!). So he is now the in-house-trigger-happy-master. I mean between a D200 and a fujifilm 6500FD, which one would you rather use ? But hey , I’m always open up for donations and sponsors
Sorry to say this but in the digital age, equipment do play a big part. How i wished i have a netbook/laptop/iphone with me(which i don’t) and how i wished i have a HD camcorder too(which i don’t) , event coverage these days can’t be satisfied with just plain-ol-photos and “after-event-post” (kids these days want everything instantly), especially not from an aging 6MP sensor(i can feel my age too) and especially not when bastard tools like twitter(attention span getting shorter ya?) exists.
Funny how i just labeled iphone as a category by itself. I mean a laptop is a category, a desktop or a netbook is a category but the for the apples , a product name IS the product category by itself too. That’s great marketing. Don’t you think so ? But ya, how i wished i have an i-fucking-phone too.
No , i wasn’t smoking when i’m writing this post.

I’ve only recently bought a DSLR myself, and the choice is quite hard. I had some cash loose so I went for the Canon 100D but I almost had my eyes set on a Sony 200D or 300D. The advantage with Sony cams is that they have the image stabilizer built into their bodies, so new lenses cost a lot less than, say, Nikon’s. Plus it is relatively cheap so you can always sell the body later on and upgrade to a higher model.
(And iphone is overrated. Although I’d like to have one too. And use it for free, eternally. xD)
Health is wealth. Posts can wait.
I’d choose the D200 over the Fuji 6500FD, but if you have a shallow pocket, you can’t go wrong with a Pentax. My ageing K10D + 18-55mm is worth $500 nowadays. Gadget envy has always been prevelant, but it all boils down to wheter you need it.
As for event coverage, just post to your liking. I post to please myself and gauge my photography skills with each outing. If I’m in for e-penor points, I’d just machine-gun my shots of all the pretty cosplayers without a care, faster than that commentator who yells “FIRST!”
Damn, that’s one heck of a fever. Good to see you recovered again.
Err… I was tempted to get an iPhone, before I realized the only smart way of getting it cheaply is to tie yourself with a Singtel plan (which is mostly not-worth-the-extra-costs). Sony Ericsson W995, man! GET THAT ONE INSTEAD!
Hmmm, speaking of digital SLRs, try hanging out in this forum. There’s plenty of 2nd-hand deals going around for less.
@neko , i know is overrated, even you wished to have one too!
@Mayat, Pentax eh ? think is time i rethink my needs for a dslr already..
@TP, yep bought a stuff or two from clubpsnap before.. but thanks mate
. But sadly, you need a plan for the iPhone to work well.. if not i’m better off with a iTouch and strapping a thin casio camera on the back of the iTouch…
