Malaysia is where i’ll be next

Wow, having stumble upoon this video @ youtube. I know where i’ll head to for my yearly dose of cosplays and “like-minded” gatherings. There will be 2 event which i’m rather interested in currently and it is Daicon and GACC.

The upcoming Daicon which is going to be on the July 11th – 12th 2009 will be at Multimedia University, Cyberjaya. Quite a funky name for a university eh? We(singapore) needs unis with such funky name as well. The venue looks easy to get there, i mean after all, the venue is a university so hard chance to miss such a big place. Best of all, they have Chihara Minori coming in to sing and sign autograph. Yes Chihara-san is one that voice acted Yuki Nagato , i’m pretty excited myself that Daicon have such a line up. Isn’t meeting a “live” seiyu a dream for many otaku that reside outside japan?

So yes, i’ll be heading down to daicon 2009 , if anyone(singapore) wants to come along, well its time for you to stop spending so much and save about $400(probably well over estimated)? For the transport up/down, probably 1 night hotel stay, food(important!), doujin and stuff purchase and probably concerto tickets. I’ll go scout around for transport prices and stuff and i’ll update on my blog regarding the trip. If you’re interested in meeting up there or spending the weekends with me , drop a comment with a working email and i’ll get back to you regarding details when the details is worked out or something along the line.

Next up, following month actually is GACC which will be August 15th-16th 2009 at Melaka(exact location TBA). I really don’t know what to expect or whether i could commit to this trip or not. I mean it will all have to depend on Daicon for that first impression and also traveling 200km up north to get disappointed is not a good way to spend my time, money and offical leave days. But i would say it does look promising. In the event that the event do “suck”, at least food over there taste great, melaka really is a nice place to visit(haven’t been there in a decade?) and spending $ there is rather wallet friendly(hooray for exchange rates!)

Oh , if my daicon trip leaves a good impression, i’ll do the same stuff for GACC, transport, stay and stuff will be updated at the site and if you’re interested, drop a comment with a working email and blah, blah, blah… blah blah. You get the picture.

Till then!

PS : Funny how just one harmless video at youtube could lead to, well this. This will be my maiden overseas convection trip , so I really hope that I’ll be able to commit and attend.

Chihara Minori is not on the list of “must-see” seiyuu, and I am not interested in traveling that far without a good reason. So I will pass on both.

Interesting, but I doubt I’m THAT interested. For Daicon at least. It’ll be like any other convention, but then again, I’m not much of a fan to appreciate any of the stuff/people on show. (Well, ACG had industry talks at least) And tix for Minori? I’ll just snipe from afar as usual. Heh.

If I do agree to hitch along, it’ll probably be in July itself.
