Sigh, this week there was a stabbing case and the media simply put a big heading that says “Attacker reads manga and watches anime” , remember the akiba case?. Watching anime or reading manga doesn’t make you a violent person!! There are just so many retards that links violence to manga and anime. If you were to link it that way , how about all the CSI shows? all the mass murder shows? war movies? murder genre story books? Grand theft auto? history class on wars? physical education? martial art training? news too promote violence. Its not what you watch or read, rather is how you want to act. I watch many violent shows/movies but i’m not violent, hell i scream at the sight of cockroaches. Modern humans aren’t born with killer instincts anymore, at least not the majority of us.
The media has to learn anime/manga is just a form of medium of story telling and so is many other forms of medium. They do not and will not just turn someone into an animal. There are just too many factors that makes one person violent and isolating anime and manga isn’t solving any problem. Misleading information is the real killer here.

Media needs to stop portraying hobbyists that are just outside of what they consider to be “normal” to always be the cause of such things.
Because it’s the flavour of the month/year/whatever. Media always needs a new scapegoat.
Can point the blame to anything except education, politics and the Big letter G.
this happens alot to games as well because i dont think the media would dare to blame education and the parents for the misdoing of others
I find it more amusing when people say “God made me do it”… or “The Devil made me do it” but I guess that’s behind the times now eh, pretty soon we’ll have people saying I did it because I had a bowel movement. Media never gets the blame they deserve… Nice to see another person hates cockroaches as much as me.
Some anime is extremly violent just like some movies are but what I find annoying is that all anime is violent in one way or another. You do not have a choice to see anime without some sort of violens. Seinen, Shounen and even Kodomo are all violent in one way or another. This dosen’t mean it leads to violens though.
