New hardwares and fug wifi

Last night , my mom’s new laptop; dell inspirion 1525 came in and being the “geek” in the house i have to help out to set up the wifi. But fug, the wifi @router and @dell don’t like each other! So i wasn’t too happy about it and stuff i did don’t seem to work, googling didn’t really help much either. I mean if 2 other laptop can connect to that damn router, why can’t the new guy do it? Isn’t new always better?  So i went on and finally installed my FON router(when they still gave it for free) and the dell is able to connect!! I seriously don’t know what is wrong but since its connected, i’m not planning to do any more with it. However, one thing is for sure, FON just works out of the box.
